Description:

In the course of the enlargement of the western line of the Austrian Railways to four tracks, the line near Melk had to be entirely rearranged in order to cope with modern high speed traffic. Between 1994 and 1996 Waagner-Biro built two new double-track plate girder bridges for the crossing of the federal road BI and the Melk river: one 150m long double track railway bridge for the high-speed line and an approximately 300m long double track railway bridge for the access line to the Melk train station.
