Description:

The arched footbridge Malecón is, because of its particular form – single truss with extended deck, inclined arch, curved bridge deck and positioned on a tripod – a particular challenge to design, calculate and produce. Located at the centre of a new esplanade in Guayaquil, the newly constructed and architecturally striking pedestrian bridge has a main span of 37.60m with 8.44m long access ramps on either side. The bridge deck varies in width between 4.50m and 5.20m.
