Description:

End of 2010, Waagner Biro concluded its first contract in the East African country of Uganda. The contract involved the production and delivery of 10 panel bridges (Bailey-type bridges) with spans of up to 30 metres (including launching nose and equipment) for the Uganda National Road Authority.

These bridges are to be employed as emergency bridges during floods, but will also be used on access roads to oil production sites in Western Uganda. In the context of an international invitation to tender, Waagner-Biro was successful above all in the technical evaluation of its bridges in comparison with other competing tenderers.
