Description:

At the beginning of 2003 the Japanese Trading House Tomen Corp. contracted with Waagner-Biro Stahlbau for the supply of panel bridging material (Bailey-type bridges) to the Republic of Yemen. Waagner Biro supplied a total of 19 panel bridges, each with a span of 30.48m (100 feet), the structural design of which allowed for British Standard loading. All the bridges were installed at high-frequency routes.

The total weight amounts to 1500 tons. As some of the bridges were to have span distances longer than 100 feet, six steel structures were supplied with span junctions, enabling the spans to be combined to a total length of 180m. The bridge width amounts to 7.2 meters (standard width for two traffic lanes).
